There’s nothing happening on your phone screen, not even a cute photo of your kid, that’s worth risking a car accident. That’s the message behind a powerful new video from AT&T’s “It Can Wait.” Maybe you’ve seen the commercial. It’s a campaign that highlights the dangers of distracted driving.
The characters all come together in the ad when the mother glances down at a phone pinging with social media notifications, causing a horrible collision.
According to government data, 3,154 people were killed and 424,000 people were injured in motor vehicle crashes involving distracted drivers in the U.S. in 2013.
Here’s another SAD reason to remember: Texting, posting, looking at your phone, IT CAN WAIT.
