For all those with a fear of bullies at school, Maddie and Tae have your back. Their debut album Start Here features the anti-bullying anthem Sierra. The track was inspired by a bully who gave Maddie Marlow a hard time in class.
Maddie and Tae talks about the bully in Sierra.“I came home crying all the time because this girl was so mean to me and said I wasn’t good enough, I wasn’t pretty enough, you know, her and he friends would gang up on me. And wherever you’re going, there’s always someone that’s going to try to make you feel like you’re not worth it and you’re not good enough and you can’t allow someone to have that power over you. And you just have to be confident in yourself and you can totally stand up for yourself and still be you know the bigger person.”
Chuck, Rachael and Grunwald talked with many listeners about being bullied and how they overcame all of the negatives. If you are being bullied or know someone that is being bullied, speak up! For more info on how you can get help or help someone out, visit StopBullying.gov.
