Sheryl Crow will perform the National Anthem at the first Democratic primary debate on Tuesday (Oct. 13).

According to an interview with CNN, the singer and songwriter is looking forward to being on site assessing the candidates first hand. “I want to hear what everyone has to say and see where I fall,” says Crow, who says she is an “avid follower of politics. ”

She adds, “I think most people know that I’m a Democrat. I’m fascinated with the process and I’m going to be excited to actually be there when our candidates debate.”

Crow says she is curious to hear everyone on the panel talk about the environment, which she calls the “mother topic” adding, “all else fails if our planet isn’t healthy.”

Anderson Cooper will moderate the debate between Presidential hopefuls Hilary ClintonBernie Sanders, Jim Webb and Lincoln Chafee on Tuesday (Oct. 13) in at the Wynn Hotel in Las Vegas. The event airs live on CNN at 8 PM ET.

Sheryl Crow has performed the National Anthem a number of times including at the 2008 and 2009 MLB All Star Game in St. Louis.
