Looking for a great new recipe to wow your friends and family this holiday season? Dust off that Crockpot and try this!

I dare you to try this unique and awesome recipe for this holiday side dish, or ‘dish to pass!‘ at the next party you attend, and pretty much guarantee you’ll love it too!

My Dad, The Big Indian’ loved to cook and experiment with new recipes and he was the BEST cook ever! He taught me how to cook and I inherited his passion for cooking for the family. Our families traditional Christmas dinner always included this SUPER easy and delicious recipe for his ‘Big Indian Crockpot Kielbasa’ and when you come up with a recipe that can please 6 out of 6 kids, you know it’s gotta be good!

This is simple to make and SO delicious and also a great side dish to bring to your next holiday party or get together when asked to bring a ‘dish to pass.’ I know firsthand what a crowd-pleaser this is, as every time I make my Dad’s crockpot kielbasa…there are NO leftovers!

It only takes about 10 minutes prep time and 6 or more hours cooking time! Here is the super easy recipe..

Big Indian Crockpot Kielbasa

You’ll need:

A crock pot

2 packages of kielbasa (2 rings per package, 4 rings total)

1 large glass jar of sauerkraut

1 regular sized bottle of Open Pit BBQ sauce

1 large diced onion

1 can drained garbonzo beans (aka: chick peas)

Pepper to taste.

Pour whole jar sauerkraut into crock pot, juice and all. Mix in, drained garbonzo beans, diced onions, whole bottle BBQ sauce,  pepper and stir well. Cut kielbasa into 2 inch pieces, and add into crock pot. Put crock pot on HIGH for approximately 6 hours……you can turn it down to “serve” or low setting and cook even longer, won’t hurt it a bit!

From my family to yours: I wish you and your family a great and blessed Christmas!
