When your security system consists with a Louisville Slugger with a nail in it, doesn’t hurt to beef up security. Over the weekend, we welcomed Elsa Von Kolenda to the Brighton Compound. We drove to Kolenda Kennel Sunday, met Elsa and fell in love! Elsa is 9 weeks and already weighs 20lbs. She already out weights her brother’s Mr. Clydesdale (Chinese Crested) and Blaze (Poodle), whom are full grown.
My wife Casey is out to potty train this puppy breathed bundle of love in one week, yes one week! She’s done it before with the others and involves some sleep deprivation. Not Elsa, Casey! Elsa, is sleeping like a log in her crate and is already responsive to waking up and heading to the backyard to do her “bidness.”
Both Casey and I are huge advocates for rescuing pet’s but we did make an exception with our baby German Shepherd. With smaller dogs like Mr. Clydesdale and Blaze, we believed it would be easier to socialize the crew with a shepherd from a proven bloodline with good temperament.
I am looking forward to hearing more feedback from all you German owner’s. Here’s hoping YOUR dogs chew toy isn’t your new Air Jordan’s!
