Chris Janson is a happy man. After more than a decade in Nashville, and more than one record deal, the singer-songwriter has shifted his measurement of success from record sales; a happy home life is more important than a string of radio hits.

“I accomplished every goal I had when I moved here, this year. Every single one,” Janson told Nashville media at a recent press event.

“My goals are simple: I want to continue to play the Opry, and if I’m fortunate to have some more No. 1s, that’s great,” he added. “Just having songs on the radio is a big enough deal for me. And as a songwriter, I’ve heard a lot of people in the past b—hing about not having singles. I’m just proud to get a cut; I’m just glad to get in the game, have a publishing deal and be working in this town. It’s a rare thing these days, and I’m glad to be a part of it.”
