(1936) – Prominent Nashville session musician, Charles Cochran, is born. He went on to play on hit songs by Crtstal Gayle, Waylon Jennings, Charley Pride, Johnny Cash and Don Williams.

(1944) Jimmie Davis (D.) is nominated as the candidate for governor in the Louisiana state primary.

(1968) – As they collect their trophy for Best Country & Western Song for “Jackson“. June Carter and Johnny Cash announce their plans to marry at the 10th annual Grammy Awards in Nashville.

(1984) – Several silver-screen cowboys, including Roy Rogers, make guest appearances on the ABC series “The Fall Guy”, in an episode called “King of the Cowboys”.

(1992)Travis Tritt plays the Grand Ole Opry. Trisha Yearwood makes her debut on the show, singing “She’s In Love With The Boy“.

(1996) – The “John Michael Montgomery” album hits triple-platinum.

(2000) – Warner Bros. and Faith Hill release “The Way You Love Me” to radio.

(2004) – During The Oscar Awards, Alison Krauss performs with Sting, Elvis Costello and T Bone Burnett wearing a $2-million pair of shoes.

(2008) Brooks & Dunn start their first ever tour in Australia.

(2012)Montgomery Gentry makes an appearance as a special guest on CBS’s “The Price is Right”.
