Former Daily Show host, Jon Stewart, is certainly living a full life since retiring from his popular show. Stewart and his wife back in 2015 purchased a 45 acre farm to home abused animals. Over the weekend a new addition to the farm was made!

The big-hearted funnyman and his wife have adopted Lily, a white pony who was tortured with almost 130 paintballs and abandoned in March at a Pennsylvania horse sale. The Omega Horse Rescue and Rehabilitation Center announced Friday night that Lily has been rescued!

“Today justice was found for Lily, so the next part of her journey will begin. Lily along with our beloved Anita, are being adopted by the comedian Jon Stewart and his wife Tracey. There are no words to describe how this feels,” staff member Kelly Smith wrote on his Facebook page.

Good news regarding the abuser who shot sweet Lily with all those paintballs. On the same day Lily’s adoption was announced, 65-year-old Phillip Price Jr. of Rhode Island was charged with transporting the equine to the horse sale — was convicted on counts of animal cruelty and handling animals without a license, local news station FOX 43 reported.

People can be so cruel to animals. God Bless Jon and his wife and their love for animals!
