Darius Rucker fans probably weren’t expecting it, but the singer just released a brand new single. “If I Told You,” written by Ross Copperman, Shane McAnally and Jon Nite, is the first track from Darius’ upcoming fifth country album, and Darius says the tune is a good indicator of what fans should expect from the rest of the project.

“The song is, with the melody and the feel and everything, is what we’re trying to do,” says Darius. “I’m glad it’s the first single, and I think it’s gonna set up the album awesome.”

And while Darius may not have written the tune, he feels as though he easily could have. He notes, “as a songwriter I would not change a line as it moves me to want to not only sing along but also as a songwriter it inspires a new perspective.”
