No matter how much pressure Emily Blunt may be under as she takes on the iconic role of Mary Poppins, she can rest easy knowing that she has the blessing of Julie Andrews.
In case you missed it, Rob Marshall – the director of “Mary Poppins Returns” – had a conversation with Andrews at an event in the Hamptons. When he told her that Emily had taken on her iconic role, she said, “Oh, wonderful.”
That endorsement meant the world to Emily. She said, “I felt like I wanted to cry. It was lovely to get her stamp of approval. That took the edge off it, for sure.” We’ll see how it all turns out when “Mary Poppins Returns” hits theaters in December 2018.
