Rory Feek is getting ready to premiere his documentary “To Joey, With Love” in select cities on September 20th, and while you may think it was hard to comb through tons of video of his late wife Joey Feek, Rory says it actually felt really good, and had him feeling transformed.

“We had Joey’s funeral in early March,” he says. “And by late March or early April, I was going through the footage and at that point I couldn’t remember Joey healthy and happy. And strong. And alive. I could only remember her dying and courageous and all of that.” He adds, “When I started going through this footage, almost immediately I saw her again. And it swept away those (last) five months and it was gone.”

While some may think it’s odd for Joey to be releasing a movie about his wife so soon after her death, he insists he’s not doing it for the money or fame. “I’m not trying to sell tickets,” he says. “I’m trying to share my wife.”
