You’re at sea with the United States Navy, fighting the threat of terrorism…adding a baby to that equation wouldn’t be the best idea, right? Well, the crew of the Dwight D. Eisenhower – and more specifically, a third class petty officer found out the hard way, that life can happen anyway.

According to the “Navy Times” the woman, who was only identified as being from Carrier Air Wing 3, checked into the vessel’s medical clinic with “stomach pains” late Saturday. Nine hours later – she gave birth to a healthy 7-pound baby girl. Apparently, she had no idea she was pregnant. Even so, everyone is doing well. And officials say that as soon as it was obvious that crew was about to be joined by a baby, a shipment of diapers, formula and an incubator were flown out to the ship. In a statement, 5th Fleet spokesman Cmdr. Bill Urban says, quote – “Both the mother and the baby are healthy and are doing well.”

America’s military – they can simultaneously deliver ISIS airstrikes andbabies!

Our sincere congrats to the new family.
