After saving a two-month-old baby girl from choking, police officer Kenneth Knox has a special bond with her. But more special than you might think. Last month, he saved little Ma’Yavi, who was turning blue when he responded to a 911 call and did reverse CPR on her, saving her life.

A week later, Ma’Yavi’s mom, Kristen Parham, asked Knox to be the infant’s Godfather and he accepted. “I know he is a great person and my baby will love him,” Parham says. “Every time she sees him, she gives him a big smile.”

Knox calls the baby girl his “angel” and says he’s honored to take this role in her life. “Out of my 25 years being a cop, this is my greatest and most profound accomplishment,” he writes on Facebook . “It made every second of those 25 years worth it all. I am forever humbled and changed by this.” The Parham is very thankful to have their new friend in their lives, too.
