Beyoncé reconnected with her Southern roots at the 50th Annual Country Music Association Awards last night in Nashville.

Joined onstage by the Dixie Chicks, the Texas native performed her single “Daddy Lessons” off her Lemonade album – a song the country trio had sampled while on tour.

Beyoncé isn’t the first pop artist to grace the CMA stage. Last year, Memphis native Justin Timberlake performed at the award show with Chris Stapleton.

Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley co-hosted the event for the ninth consecutive year.
