Blake Shelton says it’s the quality of music, not someone’s sexuality, that leads to success in Nashville.

Who’d a thought?

TMZ caught up with Shelton and Gwen Stefani after a trip to Bed Bath & Beyond, asking for his thoughts on Ty Herndon, who revealed he was gay two years ago.

The Voice judge admits even though he was unaware of Herndon’s upcoming album, he’s a fan and has the veteran country singer’s music on his iPod.

Shelton added he didn’t believe there’s a stigma against homosexuality in country music.
