A two-minute video of a North Texas 7-year-old girl shooting her first deer has gone viral.

With a camera rolling in their deer blind, Cody Klapper recorded the milestone moment his daughter, Lily, shot a white-tailed doe. He posted it online last Monday, Nov. 28, and it’s since been viewed more than two million times.

Klapper says his daughter began shooting at 5 years old, and he felt she was prepared to shoot her first time.

The video was intended for family and friends, but since it’s garnered millions of views, Klapper hopes it inspires other parents to get their children into the outdoors.

As for any backlash for letting his daughter handle firearms at such a young age, Klapper has a message for anyone who doesn’t agree.

“I respect and understand that this video may not be for everyone,” he wrote on Facebook. “If you think that you might be offended by this video that has my daughter shooting a deer with a modern hunting rifle, please keep scrolling.”
