Instead of trying to ‘keep up with the Joneses’ for their neighborhood’s best holiday display, a Westland family thought up a light-hearted way to creatively concede.
The Detroit News reports, Jami Kelly used “plywood and a few strings of white lights to form the word ‘Ditto’ with an arrow pointing toward her neighbor’s elaborate holiday display.”
“We started doing lights and then we said, ‘You know what, screw it,’” Kelly, 34, told The Detroit News.“We can’t compare. Nothing measures up.”
Kelly has lived next to the festive couple for several years, nicknaming them the “Griswolds” after the family in National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.
