Alan Thicke, TV Star and father to pop star Robin Thicke, passed away on Wednesday while playing hockey with his 19-year-old son, Carter.

According to, Thicke was in good spirits in the immediate aftermath of suffering a heart attack. It’s reported the actor made a joke to Carter while being wheeled away on a stretcher, asking him to snap a photo.

Darin Mathewson, vice president of Pickwick Gardens, told Entertainment Tonight that Thicke said to his son: “Ah, take a shot kiddo.”

Thicke died shortly after arriving at Providence St. Josepeh Medical Center in Burbank, Calif.

The Growing Pains star is survived by his three sons, Robin, Brennan and Carter and his wife, Tanya.
