Guys: Did Your Wife Or Mama Dress You Like That?

‘Menswear Gone Wild’ At…Lots of men could use a few style pointers, and often they rely on their wives to help them shop for clothing, especially dress clothes for weddings or other special events. I personally love to shop for my man, picking out cool shirts and new jeans that make his rear end look it’s best! But I had no idea how many guys were completely dependent on their wives to get dressed each day. Do you pick out your mans clothes every day…or did you wife or Mama dress you like that today?

According to the men’s fashion website Style Pilot found that two-thirds of men rely on their wife or significant other to choose their work clothes for them. Half of those surveyed admitted to also being physically dressed by their partner, such as helping put on their tie. What I find most surprising here, is that these guys were even visiting a mens fashion website!

What’s more surprising is 30% of men are told what to wear or have clothing purchased for them by their mother. And 17% have their wardrobe dictated by their mother-in-law!

Guys: So don’t lie….does you wife, girlfriend or Mama pick out all your clothes?

What Is The Most Popular Gadget Ever?

There are so many cool gadgets out right now. I mean, I have a ton of them including the newest iPhone, an iPad and a big screen TV! And with a ton of people “keeping up with the Jones’,” I would think one of those is the MOST popular gadget ever. But I was wrong!

Even with the crazy sales of things like the iPad and iPhone they are not the most popular gadget of all time. According to Yahoo, the boombox is the most popular gadget of all time!

The boombox found its way into just over 60% of households by its seventh year on the market. A handful of other technologies were quick to gain acceptance in the same time span of seven years, though none surpassed the speed at which the boombox did. CD players were in about 55% of households, DVD players were in about 50%, and VCRs were in about 40%.

Why Would Kenny Chesney ‘Drunk Dial’ Lionel Ritchie?

2012 ACM Performers!I just love hearing about huge country stars who do the same stupid things that we all do, like having one to many cocktails and picking up a phone! What happens next is almost always a ‘drunk dial‘ call that we always seem to regret the day afterwards! Kenny Chesney admits that ‘after a couple bottles of wine,’ he drunk dialed Lionel Ritchie and left him a sappy-singing message, telling his how much he loved him, and wanted to perform a duet with him, all about “Love!” This really is too funny, and anyone like me who has done the same dang thing while drinking can definitely relate to the ‘what did I do last night‘ feeling!

Lionel Ritchie seems to have gotten a big kick out of the voice message that was left by the obviously tipsy Kenny Chesney, and chuckled as he impersonated Kenny while telling Country Vibe that the gist of the message was:

“‘Lionel! Oh my God, Lionel! Oh my God, oh my God! My Love … [singing] My looove, just thinkin’ about … Oh Lionel, I love you. I love you Lionel, I love you!’

Lionel also told Country Vibe that Kenny Chesney did call back ‘the day after’ to apologize:

“The next day, he called me on the phone and he said, ‘I’m sorry I drunk dialed you, but I had to tell you how much I love you’, and I said, ‘I know how much you love me, Kenny.’”

End result? Kenny is among the artists performing duets with Lionel on the just-released pop-country hybrid album, called Tuskegee, and yes, he got his wish and sings “My Love” too!

Fight Insomnia With Your Bedtime Snack Choice

Did you know that your choice of bedtime snack can affect the quality of the sleep you’re getting? The National Sleep Foundation actually suggests that you look for a bedtime snack that has both protein and carbohydrates. I have a feeling that my top two choices for a bedtime snack may not be on the list of what foods are best to help you sleep! Try these foods and you’ll be off to dreamland!

Almonds and Sour Cherries – Almonds have both tryptophan and magnesium, so a handful of these with a few rice crackers or some tart cherries, which contain melatonin, will get you in a sleepy mood in no time.

Bananas – Magnesium and potassium rich bananas help overworked muscles relax, and when muscles relax they’re ready for rest.

Oatmeal – A glass of warm milk helps people fall asleep. Why not put that warm milk in a bowl of oatmeal? Spice it up with your favorite flavors, and you might end your day the same way you started it.

Yogurt – Yogurt is the ideal food to get your protein and carbs in one sitting, as it’s half one and half the other.

It was on grandma’s 76th birthday when the entire family gathered to celebrate. Not only did she get great gifts, but the fact that she got to take a picture with her grandkids, that was the best gift of all. And during the picture, something happened that surprised grandma!

Grandma actually had to do a double take to make sure she was really seeing what she was seeing!

Good News If You Love Chocolate!

Sweet news! If you consume moderate amounts of chocolate more frequently then you are thinner than those who eat it less often, according to a new study. If you are a chocolate lover like me…this is music to our ears! I’m not gonna lie, I keep Dove chocolate in my nightstand, and everyone who knows me knows where to look if they are ‘jonesing for a goodie!’ Now that I know this is actually good for me, I think I will enjoy my bedtime chocolate even more!

The research involved healthy men and women, who exercised on average 3.6 times a week and had a balanced, nutritious diet. The body mass index of participants who ate chocolate five times a week was one point lower than people who did not eat it regularly. What’s more, other studies have shown that dark chocolate can be beneficial for the heart!

Retirement Home Gets A Boost From iPods!

Most people think that all the elderly do at a retirement home is play cards, do puzzles and gossip. OK, while that may go on, retirement homes are getting a little needed pick me up. While you might think iPods are mainly for young kids and adults on the go, however, grandma and grandpa love them too!

iPods are always a great gift. And while many grandmas and grandpas are not great with technology, after a little bit of help, they are ready to rock out to their favorite tunes!

Inseparable In Life & Death: Broken Heart Syndrome

Seventy-six years ago, Cleda and Rosemond Blair vowed never to part. They kept their word, even in death. Just sixteen hours after Cleda, who was 95, passed away last week in an Idaho retirement home, Rosemond, who was 94, died as well. The couple’s son said that they were together constantly, “inseparable in life and in death.” There is a medical term for elderly couples who pass within hours or days of one another, it is called “broken heart syndrome” and doctors think they know why this may occur as well.

Broken heart syndrome has been a part of romantic folklore for centuries, but it’s only recently been validated as a medical condition. A 2005 report in the New England Journal of Medicine called the phenomenon “stress cardiomyopathy,” a cardiac trauma believed to be triggered by a rapid release of stress hormones.
