(WYCD) Keith Urban is a family  man, and that was apparent throughout his set at Stars & Strings in Detroit.

Urban played a full acoustic set that ranged from soulful renditions of “Long Hot Summer” and “Stupid Boy” to a rock n' roll version of "Blue Ain't Your Color." At the outset, he mentioned that fans love his wife, who happens to be superstar actress Nicole Kidman, then he brought her up again when he thanked veterans for their service on behalf of himself, his wife and two daughters.

The crowd ate it up.

At one point he was banging his mic and the body of his guitar in a bongo-style syncopated rhythm that sounded like a beat box. In another moment, Urban's guitar disconnected from the amp -- and what he did next stole the show.

He never stopped singing. He knelt on stage while singing a cappella and reconnecting.

Down on stage, he noticed a little girl with long dark hair in the front row.

Without skipping a beat, Urban beckoned her to sing with him -- and then shouted out her name to the thousands of people inside Detroit's historic Fox Theatre.

The time @keithurban gave a little girl named Stella a moment she’ll never forget. #starsandstrings #countrymusic #livecountrymusic #teamwycd #kids #kidsandmusic #teamwycd
